ValueLabs headcount to touch 1,000 by 2005

City based ValueLabs, a software services provider with special focus on the enterprise application space, today said that it would be doubling its staff strength in the next nine months. The company also indicated that its Rs 30-crore facility in the city would be ready in one year’s time.

Addressing a media conference, Arjun Rao, founder and CEO of ValueLabs, told media persons that the company which has clients of repute in the Enterprise Application space in the US, Mobile Telecom and Broadcasting/Publishing in Malaysia, had in the last seven years since its inception maintained a 100 percents rate of growth in head-count as well as revenues. “We expect to be 1,000 people strong by the end of 2005″ he said.

On the proposed ramp up, Rao indicated that the BPO division of the company was the fastest growing.

“We are adding people in that ratio of 2:1 in favour of our BPO operations. We have 70 employees in the BPO division at present” he said.

The company which has offices in India, the US and Malaysia today has a global customer base in the US, the UK, North Africa, Malaysia, Hong Kong and India. In India, the company is involved in actively providing software applications for a State Mining Company in Andhra Pradesh with turnover in the access of US $700 million. On the software services side the company also counts as a client one of the leading online B2C photo company in the US for which it has developed internet applications, a Mobile Telecom Company for which it has developed a mobile data platform and a Broadcasting/Publishing company for which it has developed interactive television applications.

The company would be ISO:9001 certified by the end of the month and was in the process of going for a SEI-CMM Level 5 certification by the end of the current calendar year.
