ValueLabs, a global IT services company, has achieved ISO 27001:2005 certification, which is the global standard for information security.
The certification follows a successful audit that validated ValueLabs’ adherence to stringent information security norms.
The certification is a critical milestone in ValueLabs’ vision for enhancing information security for their clients, said Aseervadam Gandham, Senior Vice-President (Client Services) at ValueLabs.
“Information security is critical for an organization’s business risk management. Quality management and compliance are two other components of our process framework. Our Integrated Management System (VIMS) lays down guidelines that align all our processes with these three factors. This approach ensures highest standards of quality, information management and regulatory adherence for our clients and partners,” he observed.
“As a globally proven standard for information security, ISO 27001:2005 covers areas such as physical security, asset management, access control, human resources security, communication & operations, business continuity and compliance.
The company laid out a roadmap beginning with a risk assessment and creating an information security plan that covered various areas of improvement. The entire organization was oriented towards security management and creating awareness on how critical information is to business, he explained.

The company believes the certification will boost its process initiatives so as to ensure highest levels of security and quality for their clients and partners.

The company also completed HIPAA compliance audit and SAS 70 Type II audit successfully for their Healthcare practice in 2010.
