Hyderabad, India, Aug. 18, 2016: ValueLabs, a global business technology services and solutions provider, has garnered prime mention in an industry story in today’s edition of The New Indian Express, a leading Indian English broadsheet daily. The story talks about the implications of the proposed amendments to the Maternity Benefits Act 2016, which is currently seeking the Indian Parliament’s approval. ValueLabs has been mentioned as one of few Hyderabad-based companies that have ‘surpassed the bill.’
The Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Bill 2016, passed in the Rajya Sabha recently and yet to be discussed in the Lower House, seeks to increase the leave for mothers from 12 to 26 weeks.
In a statement, Ram Manjeri, Senior Vice President, said: “ValueLabs has close to 1,200 women employees worldwide, and we’re well ahead of the curve considering we extended the maternity leave provision to six months in January 2016 itself. Beyond this, women employees can also exercise flexible work options which include working from home.”
